The Wake Up project

I wasn’t involved in the build of this site, I’ve just featured it here because I really admire what they are doing. The WakeUp Project was started in 2009 by Australian Jono Fisher, who had the idea to print ‘kindness cards’. The idea behind them is to leave them as a way to let someone know you’ve performed a (usually anonymous) random act of kindness toward them – you’ve bought them coffee, left some flowers or groceries, paid for their lunch…

The Wake Up Project is now  a community of more than 75,000 people. 250,000+ Kindness Cards have been posted and they’ve held more than 50 events featuring speakers, musicians & scientists to help spread kindness, mindfulness, peace, serenity and fun.

[x_blockquote cite=”Jono Fisher” type=”left”]I believe qualities like compassion, kindness and authenticity are no longer luxuries, but necessities for a flourishing and innovative society. [/x_blockquote]
